I am the Founder, Leader and Director of Birmingham Perl Mongers, a CPAN Author, a professional lighting engineer and general roadie, a father of 2 and a player of games.
Currently a big promoter of CPAN Testers, together with the CPAN Testers Wiki and the CPAN Testers Statistics. CPAN Testers are a group of individuals who test uploads to CPAN (the Perl code repository) and test each one on hundreds of different platforms and versions of the Perl interpreter.
I'm also a regular speaker at several international technical conferences and workshops, together with presentations to numerous Perl and Linux user groups. For the last few years have organised the Birmingham Perl Mongers World Tour, which takes the time to visit social and technical meetings for user groups in the UK. I've been employed by MessageLabs since 2003 and hold the position of QA Automation Specialist, getting paid to write Perl test suites.
I was also one of the organisers for the 2006 YAPC::Europe Perl Conference in Birmingham, UK, and am now a member of the YEF Venue Committee, who co-ordinate the efforts of the YAPC::Europe organisers and choose the venue for each year.
